The City of Newburyport currently has no senior center, running activities for seniors through the Council on Aging offices and the local Armory. Courtstreet Architects is completing a feasibility study of incorporating a new senior building within a parcel of land that is a Town neighborhood park. The senior will enable the site to remain a park yet allow for a building and parking that will meet the community's needs. The design for the senior center includes a large function room attached to a commercial kitchen, a reference library, billiards room, TV lounge, generous reception area, and a wellness clinic and exercise room. |
