The Milano Senior Center resides in a c. 1900 wood framed carriage house located on the historic Beebe Estate, which is listed in the State and National Register of Historic Places. Courtstreet Architects, Inc. worked with the Massachusetts Historic Commission to develop a design solution which not only met the needs of the building users and City budgetary requirements, but also conformed to the requirements of the Secretary of the Interiors Standards Rehabilitation of Historic Buildings.

The existing carriage house structure was entirely gutted and an 800 square foot addition was constructed. The new senior center building houses a multi-purpose room large enough for line dancing and other social events, a residential/professional kitchen, classroom, arts & crafts room, library and conference room.
