This beautiful historic wood framed building has been the Town’s most significant historic building for over a hundred and fifty years. At the beginning of the project, this magnificent building was in a barely habitable state. The design restores the building structurally and historically while introducing state of the art electrical, mechanical, plumbing and fire protection systems. The building is fully ADA compliant due to the inclusion of an on grade entrance and a four-stop elevator. While providing new open plan offices in the second floor auditorium, historic features such as high ceilings and ornamental plasterwork were preserved and the original stage was converted into a Selectmen’s boardroom.
This project was completed fall of 2006.
